In addition to assisting our clients in litigation defense, we have been very active and successful in appellate advocacy in the area of Alabama Workers' Compensation. Our appellate success in this area has helped provide leverage when negotiating both pretrial and post-trial settlements. Our recent cases have resulted in a number of favorable appellate opinions for Alabama employers in the areas of compensability and cost containment.
Our expertise in this area has resulted in many opportunities to serve the legal, insurance, and business communities through education. Our attorneys serve as Alabama State Bar-approved faculty members for legal education on the topic of Workers' Compensation. We also frequently present at the annual Alabama Workers Compensation Conference for claims adjusters. In 2007, Gaines Wolter Kinney received an appointment to the Multi-State Educational Committee for the National Florida Workers' Compensation Educational Conference in a client-driven nomination process. Since 2007, Gaines Wolter Kinney has been honored to present annually at this Conference on the topic of Alabama Workers Compensation. We also accept an annual invitation from the Georgia State Board of Workers Compensation to present at the State Annual Educational Conference on the topic of Alabama Workers Compensation.
